Is It Counterproductive To Work Out In A Fit Pod Every Day?

.In some respects, fitness is all about the grind. It is about continuing to work towards a particular fitness goal, whether that involves eating clean, getting in the fitness pod to do a workout or simply living a healthy, active lifestyle in other ways.
One part of fitness that has led to some extremely fierce and bitter debates is the idea of working out every day.
For some people, the goal is “No Days Off”; they workout every single day and push themselves hard. On the other hand, working out every day is asking for injury and could even lead to diminishing returns.
Ultimately, there is no easy answer to it, as it depends on your level of fitness, your physical health in general and what type of routine you are doing. If you are doing 30 minutes or an hour of moderate exercise every day to meet NHS guidelines, that is different from bodybuilding or competition training.
The big concern when it comes to working out every day without adequate rest is overtraining syndrome, where muscle and body fatigue leads to underperformance and an increased risk of injury.
The argument that working out without adequate rest can decrease performance comes from the idea that the underlying reason why strength training increases muscle is precisely because it breaks down muscle, allowing it to build up again stronger.
There have been some trials and studies that seem to confirm this theory on a micro scale, with longer rest periods connected to increased performance.
However, it is possible to both rest and work out at the same time, by dedicating certain days to working out particular muscle groups. This could mean having one day for legs and lower body, one day for arms, one day for cardio, one day for chest and so on.
If planned correctly, such a schedule would allow for intense workouts every day without increasing the risk of injury, although in practice resting completely is necessary to get the maximum gains from your hard work.
