Meet Josh - Our new Head Chef at Revive
We’ve got some exciting news from Revive…
We’re delighted to introduce Josh Wilby, our new Head Chef, who has joined us to lead the kitchen and help shape the next chapter of food and events at Revive.
And Josh brings quite a CV with him.
With 28 years as a chef, Josh’s career has taken him from Australia to UK, encompassing fine dining, restaurants, events and large-scale hospitality.
His UK career included time as Head Chef at Smiths of Smithfield in London, as well as helping to establish a private restaurant in Chelmsford for a group of West Ham United players.
Most recently, Josh spent 10 years at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane, Australia including time as Executive Chef.
It was a substantial food and beverage operation that had served more than 330,000 guests across five restaurant outlets in 12 months, managing a 40 strong team.
Why Revive?
For Josh, joining us was about more than simply finding another kitchen.
“I like what Sarah and Will, the owners, are trying to achieve. I think it’s a great asset to the area and is something special for the local community.”
And that fits perfectly with what we want Revive to become.
Our ambition is to create a genuine destination for high quality food, great coffee and relaxed hospitality in the Suffolk countryside – somewhere equally at home as part of your visit to Be Well Barn or as a destination in its own right.
Josh is already working with the team on the next Revive breakfast and lunch menus, bringing his experience and ideas together with our focus on great ingredients, homemade food and the warm, informal atmosphere that makes Revive, Revive.
The one ingredient Josh couldn’t live without?
Eggs!
“I think eggs are the foundation of many of the things we do, and if ever in doubt, just put an egg on it.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, his current Revive recommendation is our Eggs Benedict – bacon and poached eggs in a croissant with hollandaise sauce, accompanied by a coffee from our fantastic baristas.
As for what’s coming next, Josh isn’t giving too much away just yet…
“Keep an eye out for the new menu and see what we have in surprise for you.”
We’re incredibly excited to have Josh on board and about what this means for the future of Revive.

Friday Night Pizzas
Our Friday Night Pizzas continue every Friday until the end of September.
Freshly cooked pizzas are available from 6:15–8:30pm, to eat in or takeaway, with the Revive Bar open until 10pm.
Enjoy the rooftop terrace with gas heaters when the weather allows, or grab a table inside.
Relaxed, informal and family-friendly – and no booking necessary.

We had the best stay at Be Well Barn. It's such a beautiful and tranquil place with so much thought gone into it from Will, Sarah and the team. Wonderful home baked cakes and a stunning lunch all cooked in the kitchen in the café, not to mention our amazing time in the spa pod. It really was a perfect little day time get away!
